When will CMMI Version 1.3 be released?

What is different in CMMI Version 1.3?
CMMI Version 1.3 includes changes to the high maturity material and other improvements that will better meet the needs of organizations that use CMMI models. For more information, see the article "CMMI Representations: Past and Future."
Will there be model upgrade training?
Yes, model upgrade training will be available. Draft training for SEI Partners will be available in October 2010. The training will be required for appraisal team members who want to participate in a high maturity appraisal, and for all instructors and appraisers. Public training will begin in January. Registration information is coming soon.
How does the release of CMMI Version 1.3 affect me?
Lead appraisers and instructors must complete CMMI Version 1.3 Model Upgrade Training, which will be available after release of the new model. CMMI users are not required to complete the model upgrade training. See the requirements for qualifying to deliver CMMI V1.3 Courses and SCAMPI V1.3 appraisals for a chart of requirements based on instructor and appraiser roles.
How does this release affect appraisals?

Model upgrade training for SEI Partners will be conducted at the October CMMI Workshop. Others can upgrade in January through online training.
How soon can I get a CMMI Version 1.3 appraisal?
The first appraisals using the CMMI Version 1.3 model and the SCAMPI Method Version 1.2 can be scheduled in December 2010, and can be conducted in January 2011. (Appraisals must be scheduled 30 days in advance.) Appraisals using the SCAMPI Method Version 1.3 cannot be done until the updated SCAMPI MDD is released in January and the lead appraiser completes model upgrade training.
How can I get a copy of the model?
The model will be posted on the CMMI Tools and Methods webpage in November 2010.
